Issued 1930s/1940s, see Phantom sign item #2745. This is a lot of 103 different. Each is about 3x3" and cards in this series feature actual picture panels from Big Little Books which have been mounted to same size cardboard sheets. These were produced for a number of different characters including Mickey Mouse, Dick Tracy, Flash Gordon (see item #2747) and others. Sold in vending machines as well as offered as gas premiums. All card backs in this lot have imprint for "Texaco" along w/text "Little Orphan Annie Series Penny Cards" and card number. Many cards feature Annie as well as Sandy along with other characters from this particular BLB story. Cards are: 2-52,54-94,96-102,163-166. Typical aging as mounted but overall cards are still NM to Mint as issued.
