Item Description
5.5x9.25x2.75" tall hinged-lid wooden cigar box. Underside of lid has wonderful illustration label showing the Statue of Liberty in New York and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Lindbergh's (though his name is misspelled "Lindberg) route between them and a nice image of The Spirit of St. Louis over Bald Eagle holding olive branch atop "Peace - Friendship - Good-Will" banner. c. 1927, in celebration of Lindbergh's history making first successful nonstop flight made in either direction between New York City and Paris. Left side panel has same "Peace Eagle" eagle and Spirit of St. Louis images as does exterior of lid. The right side panel just has "Peace Eagle" name. Edges of box have "Peace Eagle" sealing tape, which shows wear and has numerous flakes/slivers off. Box has aging/dust soiling and is VG overall. Underside illustrated label has some aging at margins but is Fine overall.
