Item Description
CBGB was a Manhattan music club that served as the birthplace of the American punk movement. Punk rock pioneers The Ramones had their first shows there and other performers included The Misfits, Television, The Patti Smith Group, The Dead Boys, The Dictators, The Voidoids, The Cramps, The B-52's, Blondie and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. The club closed in Oct., 2006, w/the final concert performance by Patti Smith on Oct. 15. Glossy 10.5x22.25" stiff paper poster for "The Last Chord" concert features a design by Mark Arminski incorporating a mythological character, animal skulls, a trio of horses and the male gender sign. This design is repeated on the included 4x8.75" handbill. The show was appropriately headlined by Patti Smith, who is often called the "Godmother of Punk." Supporting artists included Lenny Kaye, Jay Dee Daugherty and Tony Shanahan. Both are NM.
