Statue was designed by Bowen Designs, Inc., an innovator in comic character collectible statues. Box contains 13" tall bronze statue of The Yellow Kid on base w/"The Yellow Kid – February 17 - 1895" plaque. Yellow Kid’s shirt reads "Say! Dis Is My 100th Birtday - Hully Gee!" Reverse reads "Dis Is Grate Stuff!" Yellow Kid is depicted in pose reminiscent of the Statue of Liberty, holding torch and copy of Joseph Pulitzer’s "New York World" newspaper dated Feb. 17, 1895. "New York World" is where The Yellow Kid strip ran. Bronze statue has colored highlights to cheeks and eyes. Statue base is inscribed "Bowen After R. Outcault" (Yellow Kid’s creator). Also incised edition 65/100, base reverse is signed in gold paint pen by Bowen w/"Feb. ‘95" date added. Hidden sliding compartment in statue base opens to reveal elaborate gold-plated metal ring that features The Yellow Kid’s face which has movable ears and simulated jewel eyes. Band reads "Hully-Gee" and has "1895" and "1995" on either side. Inked matching edition number of "65" on interior of ring. Due to its limited edition, this is one of the scarcest comic character rings. Comes w/13x23" signed and number lithograph featuring full color Randy Bowen art w/Yellow Kid images on border. Bowen has signed in black ink in lower left corner and added edition 65/100 in right corner. Comes w/9.5x12" presentation folder w/8.5x11" instruction sheet on how to open the secret compartment which includes illustration of base w/Yellow Kid image, his shirt reading "Say! Dares A Ring In Dare!" Also included is 8.5x11" COA signed by Bowen w/stamp of Yellow Kid winking w/"Dis Is De Real Ting" text. All contents are Mint as issued.
