Item numbers 1 through 1234 in auction 207
Item Description
c. 1940s. Well made fabric likely made by costume company. Includes: 17” long jacket w/“Call For Philip Morris” chest logo, brass accent buttons, braided epaulets, stripes on sleeves; 32” long trousers w/piping on sides; 7” dia. hat w/elastic chin strap. Costume lining is a bit worn, trace of lt. aging. Bright and Fine/VF overall. Little person Johnny Roventini was a bellhop at a NYC hotel in 1933 when he was tapped to be a spokesman for Philip Morris, a role he would play for some 40 years. This costume mimics the one he wore. Nicely designed.
