Item Description
We believe this is a c. 1968-early 1970s contemporary reissue of famous poster by Paul Davis that introduced American to this image of Che based on the now famous photo by Alberto Korda. Around New York City, hundreds of the original posters were defaced and Evergreen's offices were bombed. The bottom margin of this poster reads The Spirit Of Che Lives In The New Evergreen! Demand Evergreen At Your Newsdealer." Poster is mounted on 29-3/8x45" stiff cardboard w/New York framer's sticker on the back. 1/8" trimmed from extreme left margin so the poster would fit into its now missing frame. Numerous (mostly small) surface hairline scratches w/the worst being 10" long at lower left of Che's face. This could be easily restored. Small corner tip wear. Fine overall. Impressive image and size. Scarce.
