8.25x10" glossy photo shows Monroe posing in a swimsuit and heels, waving a silk scarf over her head. This signed photo has wonderful provenance as it was obtained by a six year old child who accompanied his father to work as his mother was working and unavailable to watch him. The father was an electrician working in a New York City apartment building where Marilyn lived during her marriage to playwright Arthur Miller. Asked if she minded if his son were to accompany him, Monroe graciously said yes and asked if it would be okay if she cooked the child breakfast. She made pancakes and ate w/the boy, later bringing paper and crayons to the table and coloring w/him. Later, she asked the father if it was okay if she gave the boy some pictures from her personal collection (see following items #1478-79) and signed this one in blue ink "To Peter, Love & Kisses - Marilyn Monroe." Photo does have obvious handling wear w/numerous creases and a nearly 3" tear at lower right that has archival tape repair on reverse. This tear does slightly infringe upon Monroe's signature, but it doesn't overly detract from it. The photo has tiny pinholes at Monroe's eyes, nipples and one at her crotch, but these are only really noticeable in reflected lt. and do not detract from the photo's bright and glossy appearance. If framed would display VG. Still a stunning image w/a distinct signature and a wonderful backstory. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
