Auction #207 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1234 in auction 207
Item Description
7/8". Hake #2011 with 2004 guide value of $42,000.00. A clean example of this design realized $42,900.00 when last offered in a February, 2008 Anderson auction. This example has stained W&H back paper but no celluloid splits along the collet. Front has all over stain but all details remain clear and the cello has full gloss. The slogan “Americanize America” reflects the influence of the Ku Klux Klan on the 1920 campaign. See the following item. This design is among the rarest of the few 1920 Cox/Roosevelt jugates probably exceeded only by the 1.25” size jugate. While this jugate shows age, it remains among the rarest and most desirable buttons in the hobby.
