Item Description
First is 1" with photo reading "I'm For Homer Martin/UAW/CIO." Exc. and displays Mint. Second is 1.5" with metal back and bar pin by Bastian Bros. Pictured on this are "Addes/Frankensteen." Frankensteen was one of the UAW organizers present at the famous Battle Of The Overpass in 1937. Goons employed by Henry Ford beat him badly along with Walter Reuther. The event sparked their rapid rise within the union hierarchy. The Martin button dates from around the time he was UAW President in 1937. The other button dates to around 1943 when Addes was Secretary-Treasurer of the UAW. The second button is NM displaying Mint.
