Item Description
Dated September 24, 1991. 15.5x18.5” laminated thick wood has nice graphics of comedian Lou Costello and circus performers in front of his tent holding scroll. Includes woman in devil costume holding pitchfork, lion, elephant, and clown. Youngman metal name plate is attached in center. Text certifies that Youngman “Is A Member Of The Circus Saints And Sinners Club Of America, Inc.”. Obvious fade to color art and President’s signature. Fine. Founded in 1926 to help struggling circus performers, the organization today is non-profit and supports various charities. Great design. A unique display piece from the estate of Henny Youngman. To paraphrase a Youngman one-liner, “Take This Plaque, Please”.
