Item Description
Both measure 19x25". First is "If You Want To Fly" and promotes "The High School Victory Corps" and training through "The Civil Air Patrol" in order "...To Win Your Wings As A Bombardier - Navigator - Pilot." 1942. Poster features image of officer and has different wing insignia below the Bombardier, Navigator and Pilot ranks. Folded as issued, poster has pinholes at corners and inked serviceman's name above "Navigator" text. Light margin wear including a .5" sliver missing at top left, but image area remains clean and would mat to Fine appearance overall. Second is "O'er The Ramparts We Watch - United States Army Air Forces" and was published by Brown & Bigelow in 1944. Superb art by Jes Schlaikjer has large image of bomber jacket-wearing man holding bomb w/bombers flying beneath. Schlaikjer (1897-1982) is recognized as one of the greatest World War II poster artists, becoming the official artist of the U.S. War Department in 1942. Trace of lt. wear at fold crease intersections, pinholes at four corners. Bright and VF. Desirable World War II poster.
