Item Description
"The Black Flame Of The Amazon" was a syndicated 1930s Mutual Network radio program sponsored by Hi-Speed Gasoline that dramatized the adventures of explorer Harold Noice in the jungles of South America. Fans could write for official Black Flame Amazon gear such as masks, buttons and rings, which are included in this lot. First is 8.75x9.75" die-cut stiff paper premium mask w/"Hi-Speed" gas logo at center of headband design. Depicts Amazon warrior w/war paint. Choice, NM condition. Next is 1" dia. tin litho "Black Flame Hi-Speed Explorer" pinback button w/image of snarling jaguar. Exc. Last is Black Flame of the Amazon "Hi-Speed Explorer" brass ring w/adjustable bands and inset compass on the top. One side has jaguar head and reads "Hi-Speed" while other side shows flaming torch and reads "Explorer." Ring has lt. luster wear but remains clean and VF. Comes w/original mailer envelope which has "The Black Flame" stamped return address and address label. Mailer shows wear and is VG. Rare. Both the button and ring in this lot are scarce items as few premiums for this program were produced.
