Item numbers 1278 through 3040 in auction 208
Item Description
Exceptionally large 8" long piece of pink Andean Opal that depicts a macaw parrot perched on a carved serpentine tree trunk base which sits atop an obsidian base. The parrot perches on its base via cast metal talons that are pegged and fit into holes drilled into the serpentine. A separate Mahogany Opal beak and inlaid stone eyes along w/a single carved turquoise tail feather and the beak's cere. The opal's natural varying pink coloring adds greatly to the piece's visual appeal as it is very unusual to find a specimen w/such fine coloring throughout. Exc.
