Auction #208 - Part II
Item numbers 1278 through 3040 in auction 208
Item Description
Liddicoatite is an uncommon form of tourmaline, almost identical in chemical composition to elbaite, but w/a calcium atom replacing a sodium atom in its chemical formula. Tourmaline is classified as a semi-precious stone and the gemstone comes in a wide variety of colors. The color is usually smoky brown, but it is also found in pink, red, green, blue, and rarely white. We are offering a pair of 1-3/8x2" carved "wings" from Madagascar w/dark purple, pink and clear striations. Combined, they weight 0.05 lbs. When placed beside one another, the carvings closely resemble a butterfly and makes for an Exc. display.
