Item Description
2.5" dia. by 4" tall (extends to 5" tall) cast iron working jack advertising paperweight produced by Joyce Cridland & Co. of Dayton, OH. that has patent date of Oct. 2, 1888 on underside along w/company name. Base has text "The Joyce Cridland Co. - Dayton O." Paperweight at one time was nickel-plated, but this is only really noticeable along base edge and on bottom. 80% of plating is o/w missing. Heavy patina makes for a nice contrast w/the still intact bright copper-plated luster on the jack screw. Fine.
