Auction #208 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1277 in auction 208
Item Description
Heavy 20x30" porcelain on steel single-sided sign promoting 1920s Standard Oil Company of New York's "Socony" line of Aircraft Oils. Nice large sign has image of prop-driven airplane crossing center of sign w/"Air-Craft" text spelled out across its wings. Sign has six 1-1.5" areas of chipping to porcelain around holes for hanging and scattered general aging and wear. Image of plane has .5x1" area of wear to engine area. Despite these issues, the sign still displays Fine and is a great example of a scarce aviation-related porcelain sign.
