11.5" tall. c. 1940s. Produced by Pottery Guild of America. Main portion appears as wooden barrel w/"Elsie" name and "Handle With Care - Use No Hooks - Fragile" raised text. Back of barrel shows Elsie's tail. Lid consists of Elsie's upper body, her front legs serving as handles. Exc. One of the best designed advertising cookie jars.
