Item Description
Pair of 2.5x5" Globe tickets for admittance to the World Series games played at Philadelphia's Shibe Park in 1929-1930. 1929 ticket is for Game 4 (Oct. 12) between the Philadelphia Athletics and the Chicago Cubs and features small images of a Chicago's Bear and Philadelphia's Elephant mascots. This game showcased the A's overcoming an eight-run deficit, still the largest in playoff history through the 2012 season. Ticket "Raincheck Coupon" has loosened slightly from back but is still attached to surface paper and has tape reinforcement on back. Fine. 1930 ticket is for Game 1 (Oct. 1) between the Philadelphia Athletics and the St. Louis Cardinals. Philadelphia took the series. Ticket has .5x1.75" sliver off left side and scattered aging. VG. These tickets are among the most sought after World Series tickets due to their size and wonderfully detailed graphics. The 1929-1931 A's are considered one of the greatest squads of all time.
