When compared to the David McKay version of this book there are a number of differences. This Canadian version is by the Musson Book Co. Ltd. and copyright three years later, 1934. The cover design is different and this book features a green border. Also slightly larger size, 6.25x8.5". The McKay book is marked "Book 1" at lower right of front cover while on this version that has been ommitted and replaced by "Musson" logo. The title page features same classic Mickey image although in a smaller size and in different color scheme. Rest of contents are the same although type is in a different font and coloring, while essentially the same is in typically darker shades. As noted in the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide"First Disney Book By Strict Definition." Illustrated text refers to Clarabelle Cow as Carolyn and Horace Horsecollar as Henry. The name Donald Duck appears with a non-costumed generic duck on back cover and inside, not in the context of the character that later debuted in the Wise Little Hen. Title and last pages tanned, contents have additional margin aging but for the most part remain clean. Title page has small inked price, inside back cover has inked name. Cover has moderate scattered wear/aging w/some thin surface paper rubs along extreme edges, few tiny surface paper nicks, some very faint crease lines and couple of minor indents really only visible in reflected light. Cover color remains strong. Overall still a Fine copy. This Canadian verision is rarely seen.
