Auction #208 - Part II
Item numbers 1278 through 3040 in auction 208
Item Description
4.5" (counting neck) composition Groucho head and 5.5" tall (counting neck) composition Harpo head w/top hat are from same c. late 1930s-1940s set. No maker's mark, and we assume a Chico puppet was made as well. 8" tall felt/cloth bodies are replacements, but heads are all original. Groucho head has scattered dust soiling and small flake to eyebrow and two spots of wear to hair (w/tiny flake). Harpo has moderate paint flaking to left side of face, appears as if something adhered to puppet head. Both have usual and typical scattered crazing but remain bright and glossy. Fine overall. Rare and first we've offered in our 47 years.
