Item Description
Large, 20.75x26.75" cardboard, similar in design to a jumbo window card, this is a trolley card, used to advertise movies on trolley cars. This is for original 1935 release of the Marx Brothers' first film for Paramount - "A Night At The Opera," which is often ranked among their best. Card features wonderful cartoon portraits of Harpo, Groucho and Chico. Printed by the Francis-Valentine Co. of San Francisco, CA., marquee at top notes "Moved To St. Francis", a San Francisco theater of the period. Card shows obvious wear from exposure to the elements during its original trolley use, w/creases, aging and moisture spotting. 3.5" vertical tear at top center w/tape repair on reverse. Corner tip wear. VG overall. Rare, and all posters and cards for this classic comedy are highly sought after.
