Item Description
11" long cast plastic (not in a color that would be produced) prototype gun w/ivory plastic steerhead grip on one side and clear plastic (yellowed w/age) grip on the other that reveals metal insert w/Marx factory artist hand-painted designs featuring portraits of Lone Ranger, Tonto and Silver, w/"The Lone Ranger" name and "Hi-Yo Silver" text at top and bottom. Rope design encircles "TLR" initials. 1950. Bottom of barrel has "Colt Frontier Six Shooter 44-40" stamped text and underside of gun butt has etched "Erie - X-1900A - 5/15/50" text. Metal insert shows moderate paint flaking, w/about 85% remaining, though images and text remain distinct. Fine overall. From the John Bowers Collection.
