Item Description
Beautiful golden yellow fabric with blank reverse, although we’ve seen one that said “Compliments Of… The Bainerd & Armstrong Spool Silk Company.” Centered on the front is a 5-1/8” long extremely early sheet of celluloid that includes Grant’s portrait, a list of major events in his life between 1822 and 1885 and the copyright and name of the maker “Geo. A. Snow Park Place, N.Y.” Item was a souvenir from the ceremony at his entombment at Riverside Park, NYC Aug. 8, 1885. About the fourth we’ve seen in five decades. Tiny loss of fringe at upper left. Rest is essentially Mint.
