Item Description
Ink on art board is 13x16” held by masking tape on reverse to a mat that was used for exhibition display. Overall size is 17.5x20”. Signed by prominent illustrator and cartoonist for Indianapolis News and Chicago Tribune. Original collector pencil dated reverse 1918-1920 and reverse has pencil title “If As Advertised.” In the cartoon a “Tax Payer” exclaims “Oh Boy” as he views an outdoor sign done in circus style. Under bold “Coming Soon” type, a man in outfit labeled “Congress” poses like a beautiful bareback horse rider. Horses are captioned “Tax Revision” and “ A Budget System.” How little has changed in 95 years? Minor dust on reverse. Art displays Mint. Comes w/Hake's COA.
