Item Description
Pair of stiff paper cartoons with original art by “Knox” for the “Nashville Banner.” Undated but this issue was forefront May – August 1962. Small 12.5x16.5” titled “They’re Habit Forming.” Man holding bottle marked “Socialized Medical Care – Politics 100%” says “Mr. Kennedy Says You’ve Been Taking These Pills For Some Time – How Do You Feel?”. The sickly man identified as “Britain” responds “Terrible!” The larger 14x19” is titled “Another Try At Drumming Up Some Practice” shows a man exclaiming “Don’t Tell Me Your Poor Old Grandpap Doesn’t Need A Doctor!”. Standing next to him is a donkey dressed as a doctor wearing a shirt marked “New Frontier” and holding a medical bag marked “Limited Medicare For The Aged” in one hand, the other hand holds a paper behind him reading “S.S. Tax Bill – Up $.” Small bit of tanning on upper left margin of larger cartoon otherwise both Mint as produced. Comes w/Hake's COA.
