Item Description
Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) was an American poet and one of the leading figures of the Beat Generation in the 1950s. He vigorously opposed militarism, economic materialism and sexual repression. Ginsberg is best known for his epic poem "Howl," which is included in one of the books offered here. First is 5.5x8.5" first edition, first state copy of "Sad Dust Glories - Poems During Work Summer In Woods" printed in 1975 by The Workingmans Press. Title page has been signed in black felt tip pen w/Ginsberg making corrections to title. Exc. Next is 4-7/8x6.25" copy of "Howl And Other Poems." This is a third edition. Next is 5x6.25" copy of "Reality Sandwiches." This is a sixth printing from 1967. Books show obvious wear/aging from use and are VG. Both are from The Pocket Poets Series printed by The City Lights Pocket Bookshop. Comes with Hake's COA.
