6.75" tall (to top of hat held in Yellow Kid's hand) mechanical tin Yellow Kid figure. c. 1890s. Figure wears yellow (heavily aged/stained) nightshirt and has moving, mechanical arm action activated by wire lever on back that causes him to tip hat. Body is wooden block w/attached cast metal head, hands (attached to wires) and hat. All metal parts were at one time painted, though these now show much wear, w/just a hint of the hat's original blue paint showing. Head has approx. 40% of original paint and hands have trace of paint. Shirt has several small holes/tears and figure is Good overall. Rare.
