Item Description
15/16" brass. DeWitt/Sullivan 1860-59 and DeWitt notes that this is probably one of the earliest pieces of the 1860 campaign. Obverse reads "Millions For Freedom/Not One Cent For Slavery/1860." Reverse has displayed eagle surrounded by "Success To Republican Principles." .25" dark tarnish dot on this side at the top while the obverse has two smaller slightly darker spots but on both sides the vast majority of the brass luster remains. Also see group of early Lincoln 20th century celluloid buttons including one from "Freedmen's Aid Society" #783.
