Item Description
Large 1-7/16x1-11/16" tin type from Civil War era series which included Lincoln (see Hake #3063) and Civil War generals. This example is missing the paper label from the reverse as well as a small brass ring once affixed to the top edge. Ornate brass frame has nice muted luster and the emulsion on the tin is near flawless. Reverse has a few remnants of the paper label but no text. Unlisted in Hake and DeWitt/Sullivan. Rare.
