Item Description
This piece unlisted in Hake is about 4" tall and comprised of multiple segments. Starting at the top is a 2" wide tin bar with large brass pin on reverse and front stiff cardboard panel reading "Tippecanoe Club." Suspended below on a diagonal is 1.75" "McKinley" ribbon. Also below is a 1.5" flag design ribbon with a 5/8" McKinley real photo mounted. Below the flag held by a cord drilled through its center is a fully three dimensional chestnut which has gold hand painted accents and the large date "1896." At the base of the chestnut is a small metal piece to keep it in position along with a .75" long red fringe. Exc. and the only example we've seen. Sen. Charles Dick Collection. See next related item.
