Item Description
3.5x5.5" with light general wear and dust soil front and back but no significant damage. Back of the card is unused and stamp area has name of photographic paper maker "Azo." Front scene is outdoors with three carriages in the background among a grove a trees. Stretched, apparently by cables, in the foreground is what seems to be the skin of a large animal. Mounted on the skin are three large posters with Kern at left and Bryan in the center. With magnification, although blurry, the text can be read across the top of each poster "Shall The People Rule?" This phrase was said by Bryan in accepting his third Democratic nomination for the Presidency in Lincoln Nebraska August 12, 1908. He was arguing that the people should control their government and use the government to protect their rights and promote their welfare rather than having government by the representatives of predatory wealth who secure immunity from subservient officials. Next to these two posters is the third poster picturing Ohio governor candidate Judson Harmon. Only example we've seen.
