Item Description
These came from the archives of the American Badge Co, Chicago. One has their backpaper and the others do not. First is 7/8" reading "Chicago Hebrew Mission 1887-1937 Golden Jubilee." The rest of the buttons are 1" and the first reads "Karen Ami" with design of a hand making a contribution into a fund raising box. This 1930s button translates to English as "Fund Of My People" and was a project of Jewish Schools of Chicago to train children for "Intelligent Participation In Jewish Community Life." Pupils brought contributions and then elected representatives to distribute these funds collected to various organizations through out the Jewish world. The final three buttons all have the text "Hadassah School Luncheons." All three are in different color combinations and reference the organization founded by seven women in 1912 with title "Women's Zionist Organization Of America." All five are NM displaying Mint.
