Item Description
Each is 2-1/8". First reads "Free Ida Nudel/Soviet Prisoner Of Conscience/Queens College Student/Struggle For Soviet Jewry/CJO." Button is c. 1984 when Jane Fonda and others began a campaign for her release from Russia and permission to immigrate to Israel. Second item reads "Joseph Mendelevich Free/Remember The Rest!" Curl includes phone numbers for group "Student Strike For Soviet Jewry." Button is c. 1981 when he was released and allowed to go to Israel. Earlier he served in the Gulag with dissident Natan Sharansky (see item #523). Both buttons are Mint. Marshall Levin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
