Item Description
Each is 1.25". All but the second in row two have some surface rust on the reverse collets but the only one that shows a little tan stain on the front is the first for "Heinz's" Pickles. This is quite scarce and has seldom seen 1896 W&H back paper. Second is for "Arna The Only Union Coffee" showing a workingman's lunch pail. This has no back paper. Third is exceptional real photo button with woman standing behind a stove plus text "Use A York Gas Range." Fourth is choice color button for "Old Musty/Van Nostrands Ale." Fifth is for "Pardridge & Blackwell's New Store" in "Heart Of Detroit." Last is choice color showing company trademark of a crown captioned "Rex" and promoting "Use Atkins Saws And Have Good Luck." This one had clicker suspended from a ring on bottom edge but now missing so there is a small rim hole. This one also has an extremely rarely seen W&H back paper which includes "Design Patented Dec. 13, 1898" and may reference the concept of a button with a hanger. All display Mint with the exception of Heinz (also see #551). A beautiful early group.
