Item Description
36 different buttons primarily from the 1930s to the 1950s with a few before and after. Smallest is 1" and largest are 2.25". First three buttons refer to the "49th State Safety Legion" and include higher rank examples for Lieutenant and Captain. This was a safety club for children sponsored by the St. Louis Globe-Democrat newspaper and in conjunction with radio broadcasts over station KMOX. These are from the mid-1930s. Group includes two enamel on metal badges in the top row. Group also includes five cardboard milk bottle tops with a safety theme. There are five safety buttons from Portland Cement Company 1928-1955 and another from Lehigh. Also represented are Western Electric 1944, Curtiss Aviation 1945, Sun Oil Co., Westinghouse, and many others. Tiny age on a few but nearly every one is totally clean and displaying Exc. to Mint.
