1.5". Listed in So-Called Dollar book as #399. The silver is .890 fine. Front shows god Mercury opening canal locks through which passes vessel Argo, the symbol of navigation. Caption below is "On! Sail On!" Reverse shows to women representing the two hemispheres with the Earth between them and with cornucopias above. Beautifully designed and NM. Also see NYWF 1939 silver medal #766.
