Item Description
John L. Barrett played The Lone Ranger on test broadcasts of "The Lone Ranger" radio series in early Jan., 1933, but when the program became part of the regular schedule Seaton was cast in the title role. In later years he claimed to have devised the cry "Hi-Yo, Silver" because he couldn't whistle for his horse as the script required. Seaton won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay twice, for "Miracle On 34th Street" and "The Country Girl," and was nominated for Oscars three additional times. Included here is 6.25x7.25" promotional "Paramount Pictures Cafe Continental" menu printed by The Lord Menu Co. for Paramount Studios c. 1956. A studio souvenir, this menu features facsimlie signatures of many stars - Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Fess Parker, Dorothy Lamour, Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn, Nat King Cole, Lucille Ball, Jimmy Stewart and many others as well as a sketched caricature of Alfred Hitchcock. Menu also includes advertisement for new release "The Ten Commandments." Moderate handling wear, Fine overall. This comes w/3-5/8x5.5" restaurant receipt from "Paramount Continental Cafe" which has been date stamped Jan. 9, 1952 and signed in pencil by Seaton. Uneven top edge as removed from receipt pad but VF overall. Last item in lot is 8x10" vintage photo showing Seaton and his family entering building. Upper right corner has aging and .5" area of surface paper off. Fine. Nice trio for an important figure in Lone Ranger lore.
