Auction #208 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1277 in auction 208
Item Description
This beautifully colored 2-1/8" button with W&H back paper has been in the Hake Collection for decades. This was a stock W&H design in 1898-99 and is also known in a smaller 1.75" size. Although this example has no text and may have been used as a salesman's sample the design is typically imprinted with text relating to Shrine groups and used for conventions. It features their gold crescent moon and star design. A costumed lady wearing a fez is seated on a camel flanked by background scenes of palm trees and the Pyramids of Giza. Rare and NM displaying Mint. Comes with Hake's COA.
