Each piece is 4" tall with 1-3/8" suspended medallion. Each has identical hanger inscribed "1892 Washington." The first has faded ribbon but easily readable as "Committee Of Finance." Second ribbon is less faded but more damage. This one reads "Committee On Reception And Invitation." The first piece has had the ribbon re-sewn along the bottom edge to hold the brass bar which joins to the loop of the medallion. The second ribbon is split and has not been repaired. In addition, the front piece of cloth has .5" split at upper left corner. The medallions are identical and both include rainbow patina. Front reads "Citizens Executive Committee District Of Columbia" with numerous symbols including rising sun, eagle, figure of Justice, male figure on a pedestal, and U.S. Capitol. Back of each piece reads "26th National Encampment G.A.R. Washington D.C. September 1892." Limited issue and rare.
