Red, blue and gold foil covered cardboard box 4-5/8x4.75x.75" thick which has interior cardboard around a big circular wheel holding hundreds of matches designed to be snapped off individually and struck across a striker panel on the top front of the box. Only a dozen of so of the matches have been removed and the match wheel can be positioned in the opening to display as unused. There is a small tear on the upper right corner by the hinged box lid but when the lid is in position this small break barely shows with just tiny wear around the edges of the box and its die-cut areas where tiny specks of the foil covering are lightly worn. Box front includes name of group and address in New York City. Reverse of the piece has four paragraphs about the danger facing children with first paragraph reading "This Is A Dreadful Moment For The CHILDREN Of The World-Over Europe, A Madman, Ruthless And Brutal Sends Carnage And Fire, Death And Destruction To All In His Path." Additional text pleads for contributions to stave off starvation. Lightly worn but overall in Fine, clean condition. Most unusual and the only example we've seen.
