Item Description
First is 2" brass coat check reading "Feltman's" with a large number "11" below and the reverse is hand stamped with the large initials "G.B." Second is 11/16" with front reading "Feltman's Coney Island" with text surrounding initials and with a numeral "5" on the reverse. Third piece is 1" "Stauch's 25." Blank reverse. Feltman's restaurant was on Surf Avenue in the 1890s featuring a series of endless dining rooms that could serve 8,000 people at a time. Stauch's was a Coney Island institution on Bowery which served upper class clientele. The building went through various fires and rebuilding’s eventually reaching the point where it could hold 3,000 couples on the dance floor. Items have trivial age but no damage.
