Item Description
This elephant figural building that functioned as a hotel and a tourist attraction at Coney Island was built in 1885 located at Surf Avenue and West 12th Street until its destruction by fire in 1896. First is 5/8" brass token holed as made. Front shows structure surrounded by its name while reverse reads "Coney Island Souvenir." Second is 1.25" in lustrous white metal also holed as made. Big detailed image of the building on the front surrounded by "Elephantine Colossus Coney Island C.A. Bradenburgh, Manager." Reverse reads "Architectural Triumph/Height 176 Feet, Length 203 Feet, 32 Rooms, Open Daily." Both pieces are NM.
