These are very early Radio Orphan Annie premium buttons from 1931. Each is 1.25" celluloid sent to respondents who voted in an Ovaltine sponsored contest indicating their preference as to whether Ovaltine should be served with ice or ice cream. Voter's preferring ice received the Annie button and those preferring ice cream received the Corntassel button. The Annie has a little loss of silver luster from the metal back but otherwise a gorgeous and NM example displaying Mint. The Corntassel is also missing the silver flashing from the reverse. Front right side has exceedingly shallow dent just a little bit noticeable to the touch. The button displays totally clean and glossy. Cream tone is just a hair darker than on the Annie example. Both carry the name of the strip creator Harold Gray. These are early and scarce buttons with many auction sales for each in excess of $400.00. Pair.
