Item Description
9-1/8x22.5" cardstock sign w/Ringo Starr portrait and large "Beatle Bus" text. Sign is dated Aug. 18, 1965 and was issued by the "Atlanta Transit System" for the day The Beatles performed their one and only concert in Atlanta, GA. This concert took place during the band's third US tour and it was this concert that The Beatles gave one of the first live performances ever to make use of a foldback system of on-stage monitor speakers. There were no posters created for this concert, making this item as close as it gets. These signs were affixed to windows of the Atlanta Transit System bus fleet used to transport some of the 30,000 fans who attended the concert. Fan has inked "I Rode A Beatles Bus" at lower right and signed her name. Presumably this same fan wrote "Ringo Starr" in pencil beside his portrait. Sign has obvious handling wear w/numerous creases and pinhole at each corner. Scattered moisture spotting to left half of sign. VG. Rare.
