Item Description
Original printing 11x17" flyer/poster for April 11-22, 1976 rock/punk music festival that took place at Max's Kansas City, a nightclub/restaurant in New York City which became a gathering spot for musicians, poets, artists and politicians in the 1960s and 1970s. It was also a favorite hangout of Andy Warhol and his entourage. The Velvet Underground played there regularly, including their last shows in the summer of 1970. It was a home base for the Glam Rock scene, which included David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, the New York Dolls, Wayne County and others. Front features photo collage which shows Andy Warhol, Joey Ramone, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Steven Tyler, Richard Hell, Johnny Thunders and other members of the New York Dolls, Dee Dee Ramone, Iggy Pop, Wayne County and others. Back lists performances and shows photos of the various acts, some include The Heartbreakers, Blondie, The Talking Heads, The Ramones and others. Vertical fold at center w/pinch creases and scattered handling wear/aging. Spot of discoloration on Tyler's face on front. Fine overall. Rare and historic.
