Item Description
1950s ©Peerless Weighing And Vending Machine Corp. Each is 1-1/8x2-1/8" w/full color photo front. Backs are bw and include printed fortune but have no additional ink imprint for weight as these were to be issued by weight scale vending machines. There are 40 different in the set and feature mostly movie stars plus some recording stars such as Johnny Mack Brown, Perry Como, Ava Gardner, Dinah Shore, Eva Gabor, June Allyson, June Powell, Gene Kelly, Ginger Rogers, Claudette Colbert, Elizabeth Taylor, Stan Kenton, Dick Powell, and many others. This lot includes four complete sets of 40 cards, plus one other near set, 39 of 40 (missing just Roland Young). Also included is the original "Peerless" box noting contents of 200 cards (of which 159 in total remain). Box is fine. Cards lightly aged but all are exceptionally clean and w/sharp corners. NM/Mint as issued.
