Item Description
3.5x6.5x1.25" deep illustrated cardboard box has image of gun and Gene Autry on both sides. Box contains 6" short barrel, nickel finished cast iron gun w/signature orange plastic grips. Raised "Dummy" text inside cap chamber. Around 1941 many states banned fireworks and caps. Toy manufacturers complied and produced dummy guns, similar to normal guns except they were incapable of firing caps. These varieties were manufactured in lesser quantities and are rarer and more valuable. Plastic grips have slightest warp but o/w gun is unfired and NM. Canton Hardware. c. 1940s. Box is missing one inner flap and has two 1" splits on end flaps. Box holds original shape. Fine. Also included is original 3.5x5.5" insert photo of Autry in exhibit card style. Rare and only the second time we've seen this included. Card is Exc.
