Item Description
Original 3-5/8x6.5" envelope w/printed "Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc." return address has May 18, 1935 postmark and typed recipient address. Bottom .25" margin has tape staining from scrapbook mounting and bottom right corner is aged. Fine overall. Envelope contains 8.5x10-7/8" typed letter w/May 17, 1935 date on "Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. - Tarzana, California" letterhead. Burroughs mentions recipient's invitation to visit Dallas, TX. and mentions signed copy of his "Pirates Of Venus" book. Burroughs has signed in black ink which has aged due to iron content in ink. Letter has horizontal and two vertical folds as mailed. Scattered aging streaks from glue on envelope flap. Fine/VF overall. Signature still displays Exc. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
