Item Description
4.25x10x6" tall hand-painted over production Marx tin litho delivery motorcycle toy. Unmarked but 1930s. Production driver has been hand-painted as Moon Mullins and back of delivery cycle has custom-made and hand-painted trunk w/opening lid marked "Moon Mullins Moving Day" and separate hand-painted tin figure of Kayo. Toy design causes it to move forward when Kayo figure is pulled down and released. Toy works well. Trunk has scattered paint flakes, some of which affect text on sides. Moon and Kayo figure have some paint wear to heads, but still display well. Back wheels show wear w/some trace oxidation. Wonderfully designed and executed prototype for a toy that was never produced. VG/Fine overall. From the John Bowers Collection.
