Item Description
First are three 7x9” large stiff cards with tanned edges and one corner off the first. These are portraits of TR & Fairbanks and Invitation card includes: “Please Present The Enclosed Card Of Admission.” Referred to card is 3x4-7/8” in “United States Senate” envelope with serial “914” stamped on back which matches stamp on back of ‘ticket’ which includes printed name “D.M. Ransdell” who was appointed by Harrison as U.S District Marshal of the District of Columbia and later became Sergeant At Arms, U.S. Senate. Front of card reads: “Inauguration Ceremonies/March Fourth, 1905./This Will Admit Bearer To The Senate Wing Of/The Capitol And To The Senate Gallery, Also/To The East Front Through the Rotunda.” Trivial age on envelope. Ticket Mint. Last is 4.25x8.5” inauguration program for the “Ceremonies At The National Capitol/March Fourth/Nineteen Hundred And Five.” Eight pages detail the proceedings of the event including; Entrance To The Galleries Of The Senate Chamber, To The Floor Of The Senate Chamber, Proceedings In The Senate Chamber, The Procession To The Inaugural Platform, And Proceedings On The Inaugural Platform. Original ribbon binding. Textured cover is designed with oval window to show Capitol Dome on first inside page. Light soil to cover. Contents Mint.
